Shrader Family Lifestyle Session-Cary, NC

Thankful is the best word that comes to mind when I think about getting to meet the Shrader family.  When I arrived at their home last Saturday for their lifestyle shoot I was greeted by two big dogs and two little children.  I just smiled at all the excitement, and I knew this was going to be a special two hours with all of them.  Their story is unique and special, but it’s also just so normal when you are right there in the midst of it feeling the natural love the exudes from each of them.  It was a blessing for me to be a part of it.

Alex and Sam.  Cameryn and Carson…six and almost four.  Sadie and Stella (the large dogs I mentioned above).  Oh, and let’s not forget the baby girl that will arrive in just a couple of months.  I loved every moment captured, every laugh, every hug, every story, and every conversation.  When I asked Alex what she wants to remember at this time in their lives, this is just a tiny portion of  her beautiful and memorable response:

The way my son looks up at my husband after he’s done something he thinks is really awesome. My daughters face when she’s telling us about her day at school. The way my husband looks at the kids when he thinks no one sees him. His face the first time he felt our daughter kick. The way the kids look when I go in to check on them at night and find them curled up together sleeping. My son’s laugh. My daughter’s first report card. The feeling I get every time I get to see our little baby on the ultrasound screen. My husband’s face on Friday evening when he finally gets to come home for the weekend. I don’t want to forget any of these little moments. These are all the tiny little flickers of time that make up our lives together.

Sam loves building train tracks with the kids in their bedroom.

Cameryn and Carson were both very serious about about their toys. :)

I think Cameryn could read books to Carson for hours. She is such a smart little girl.

I love these next three.

There were lots of smiles and laughs during story time. And lots of seriousness and silliness.

I loved watching Sam and Alex watch their children. They adore them.

See…like I said, lots of laughs and seriousness.

This family is adorable. I love the way Sam and Alex started having their own conversations while they thought I was only taking pictures of the kids.

After reading to her little brother, Cameryn said that it was time for hugs. So, she hugged her brother and then went over to the couch to hug her Daddy. She sure loves her Daddy.

All the hugging turned into tickle time. I think this next set of photos are my favorites of the day.

Alex says Cameryn is extremely excited about the baby coming soon. She is constantly touching and rubbing and kissing Alex’s stomach and talking to her little sister. Precious.

More tickle time. I love these. Alex told me they have lots of snuggle time on the couch, and it really was the sweetest part of the session.

Oatmeal chocolate chips cookies. Yum. The kids were so exited to help make them.

Cameryn did a pretty awesome job cracking the egg. :)

While we were waiting for the cookies to bake, there was more time for tickles and snuggles. This family loves to cuddle. I love it.

Alex is a beautiful and wonderful Mommy.

The cookies are ready. They sure smelled good. I am pretty sure the kids loved them.

I am actually really sure Carson loved his cookie. Alex said loves his eyebrows, his smile, and his dimple. I do, too. :)

I love how colorful this puzzle is.

Alex and Sam are awesome parents. I loved watching them interact with each other and the kids.

The kids like to curl up with their Daddy in his recliner. Alex fell asleep…I am pretty sure she was exhausted.

I had so much fun meeting and spending time with these two. I can’t wait to see them again!

Thank you, Shrader Family, for welcoming me and making me laugh (and cry)….your family’s story is incredible, and I consider it a blessing to have spent this time with you.  I can’t wait to meet your baby girl very soon and document the next year of your life. :)

Daphne and Ben: Greenville, NC

Daphne and Ben’s wedding day this past September was not only beautiful and sentimental but it was also so organized. My second shooter, Erin Catlett, and I had so much time to get wonderful shots of all the details and all the emotion. It was the perfect wedding day for a photographer. Daphne sent me a list of the most thoughtful and creative shots that she wanted that day, especially of she and Ben. I was so excited to know how important her wedding photos were to her.

Daphne’s wedding day theme was even more sentimental than most. As I explained in the blog post of their engagement session, I had the honor of dontating a photo shoot for the Relay For Life auction (supporting the American Cancer Society) at my home church, St James United Methodist, in Greenville last year. Daphne emailed me the weekend of the auction to let me know that her parents and bid on and won the photo session with me. They had given it to Daphne to use for her upcoming wedding. So, Daphne not only booked me for her engagment session but also her wedding. :) In her email, Daphne thanked me for donating a session to Relay for Life. She said that April of 2010, her mom was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer, but through prayer, hope, and caring doctors, she was now in remission. They weren’t sure if she would live to see Christmas (2010), so they felt so very blessed to have her with them. It had now been a year since she had been diagnosed. Because of all of this, they chose pink for their wedding color, in honor of her mother surviving breast cancer. When I read this, I was so thankful that her mother was now doing so well, so thankful that I donated this free session, and so thankful that I was going to get to be their wedding photographer. You will love the way they incorportated the color pink throughout their wedding day.

Daphne and Ben have such a mature, deep, strong love. I could feel it through reading their words about each other and each time I saw them together. It is an everlasting love, and I am so happy I was there as their photographer on their very special day.

Congratulations Daphne and Ben! I am so thankful for you both!

Holland Family Lifestyle Weekend Session

I am so thankful to be able to share these images with you. Last weekend, I went to spend a few days with one of my oldest and dearest friends. I was there for four nights, and it was so wonderful to be able to share and capture so many real life moments with them. Emily and Ryan truly do make the most of every single moment they have together as a family. Ryan is in his third year of residency in Shreveport, LA. He has a very busy and sporatic work schedule. I have been to visit them 3 times since their son, James, was born, and each time I am always amazed at the energy Ryan has when it comes to being a husband and a Daddy. Even though he has to put a lot of effort into his work, he makes sure that his beautiful wife and sweet son come first. I love the way Emily makes sure even the little moments are remembered. She has started such special traditions with James, and she makes sure he will be remember them by faithfully updating her blog with every little moment that their family shares. I have always loved the bedtime routine they have created for James, and I am so happy that I was able to capture that during my visit.  Because I was there for a few days, I was able to capture so many authentic moments in their family’s everyday life.  It was pretty special. :)

Before visiting, I asked Emily to answer a few questions in order for me to be prepared to capture all the important moments.  When I asked her what her family loves she said food, fun, laughter, time spent together, days when “dad” isn’t on call, reading books and snuggling on the bed together with James in his footie pajamas, and, of course, Jesus.  She said that James would reply to this questions with food, dancing, balls, the moon, and being outside.  And when asked what she never wants to forget about her family right now, her response was as follows:

Most of all I want to remember the simplicity of life. Without the
distraction of commitments, friends, and family, we are able to focus
on little moments as a family and decisions that are paving the way
for the rest of our life together. I want to remember the laughter
that we have, the funny things we do as a family, and the peaceful
moments that occur every so often when we realized that we are exactly
where we need to be and that all feels right.

Now on to the real life moments of the Holland Family…

James is one of the sweetest things I have seen.

I love these moments. I promise they are completely real. That’s what I love about them.

I couldn’t help but capture James’ sweet little hand curled up on his Mama’s arm.

James really loves to eat.

Precious is all I can say.

Ryan is such a fun Daddy. He makes James laugh and laugh. This is what they call the “jump run”. It’s pretty awesome. :)

After all that jumping, it was time to play with some of James’ favorite games…like puzzles and lots more…

James loves to be outside. He has lots of cool toys. Look at all this joy.

Yes, he loves balls. He says that word all day long.

James, your parents are amazing. And, you’re not to shabby yourself.

His hands got dirty, so he had to brush them off. :)

These are two of my favorites. One of their daily routines is walking down the street to their mailbox. I love the way that moment was captured.

Ryan gives James a bath every night that he can. It starts off their bedtime routine I mentioned earlier.

He couldn’t be any cuter.

I captured lots of images of story time. They do this every night. I love that. First they start with some books, and they end with a Bible Story.

Time to brush those sweet teeth.

I love these moments. What a sweet Mama.

A little bit more time to play before bed time. I love how serious James looks.

It’s time for bed, and James loves his little doggy. He can’t sleep without him. I love you, James, and you totally look like your Mama in that picture on the left, by the way.

Emily, Ryan, and James…thanks for letting me be there with your family for a few days. I had the best time, and I consider it such a blessing to be able to share these images that portray the love your family shares. I love you all, and I can’t wait for my next visit.

Family Lifestyle Session Giveaways: Winners Announced!

What is about your family right now that you never want to forget?  I read the first response to that question for the giveaway that came in a week ago, and I was already wiping the tears after the first few sentences.  I felt the strongest sense of confirmation that THIS is what I was created to do….to find out with thoughful questions what families do not want to forget, what is important to them, and what is uniquely authentic about them and then capture for them.  It really was the most beautiful and peaceful feeling.  After I read that first response, I let my best friend, who has been so encouraging through this entire journey, read it, too, and she felt the same way I did.  This is what she said, “Wow, Sara.  I am almost certain that this family was part of the reason God put this (giveaway) in your heart.  I bet they’ll win.  Wow.  I’m so thankful!  I’m so excited to see what God does.”

So many things about this past week have been amazing.  All the responses.  All the love and emotion and realness in them.  All the confirmation and excitement I feel.  All the votes.  All 500 of them.  And all the love that came with each vote.  Two of the mothers that entered the giveaway were so generous.  One mother voted for family #1 instead of her own.  Another mother asked that all her family’s votes be given to family #1 if her family or family #1 didn’t get in the top 5.  The incredible thing is that both of the families of these mothers and family #1 did end up in the top 5.

As you can see, so many things about this giveaway have been wonderful and touching and so naturally beautiful.  I am so thankful for it and thankful for each person that entered the giveaway and for each person that voted.  Thank you all!  As for the winners…they are revealed in their responses below:

First Place Winner: A Lifestyle Family Session, $100 Print Credit, and a 4×4 Linen Memory Book:

  • 1.  Just a few weeks before the holidays my husband was diagnosed with an incurable form of Lymphoma. He’s only 35 years old. We had found out only a few weeks before that we were expecting baby number three. It felt like the entire world had collapsed. It was only after seeing how determined my husband was and how brave my children were that I was able to get through my grief. It was their actions that helped me to realize that every single moment is a gift. Every precious one. No one is guaranteed any amount of time. All that you can do is enjoy these tiny moments. And never forget them. He has just recently started his first rounds of treatment and his courage and strength inspire me daily. He is working full time between rounds of chemo and still manages to come home and help me with the kids and the kitchen and the house. I don’t want to ever forget just how positive and strong willed he has been through this. I don’t want to forget how understanding and compassionate our kids have been. They are so young. They can’t possibly understand everything that is going on. But they do know that their Daddy is sick and that sometimes he’s going to be too tired to play. And they understand. They don’t pester him. They curl up with him in the recliner and spend time with him like that. They know that Mommy is on bed rest to help their little sister and that I can’t pick them up or run around with them right now. And they understand. They don’t pester me. They have movie marathons with me in bed, and do crafts at the coffee table so that I can help them. They help each other get dressed and get juice and are doing more chores around the house. They know that these tiny things make life so much easier. They are angels.
These winners will receive a lifestyle family session. (There are actually sixtotal winners instead of five.  The two families that were in 5th place had the exact same amount of votes, so they both won!):

  • 2.  My children are currently 2 and 5 years old. Actually turning 5 tomorrow. My husband works a lot, but I never want to forget the chaos of having two young kids. It seems like yesterday my 5 year old was born! I used to take tons of pictures but with the addition of the second that slowed down. We are moving into our new home this month, and this is the home my children will “grow up” in. They are so incredibly excited (we have rented the past three years) to have a home to call THEIRS. These simple moments are the ones I want to remember!!! And my 5 year old is learning to ride her bike without training wheels!
  • 4.  Oh how I cherish the giggles and smiles when my daughter and son sit and ‘jump’ together on my son’s bed. I do not want to forget this! We have alot of jealous issues right now with our son due to his sister who is now mobile and can play with toys. Our daughter (10 months) simply adores her brother no matter how many toys he takes away from her or how many headlocks he puts her in. Anyways there is something special when I put them both on his bed to play. He jumps and laughs and she just cackles! They jump and dance and giggle and I love it. We will probably have a broken bone or something down the road because of it but hey their giggles are priceless! This daily activity in our house produces the biggest smiles for this stay at home mom!
  • 6.  Our kids have a wonderful way of breaking through the monotony of life to reach right into our hearts and scream “Drop everything you’re doing, Mom and Dad, because this is what’s important!”. As adults, we easily get caught up in the busyness of life. Often our focus is on getting the next meal on the table, trying to remember if we paid that water bill, or coordinating nap, bath, play and reading schedules for little ones. In the midst of pondering how everything will get done in a day’s work one day our 3-year-old said to our 1-year-old “Stell-O (daughter’s nickname), I dropped my bean!”. We stopped what we were doing to see our little girl immediately spring into action, pick up the bean off the floor and shove it into her brother’s mouth as they both laughed hysterically. Our charming 3.5 year old happens to think that words ending in “O” are just more fun). It’s little moments like this when we’re reminded that it’s the hearts we fill with laughter, not our accomplishments, that define success.
  • 8.  My kids are now 3 and 5 and are growing up so fast, it is scary. We have had a big transition this past year with my son starting school and this has played into those moments that I would love to capture right now. My son loves to “teach” his little sister what he is learning in school (she will be ready for Kindergarten long before her time) whether it is sounding out words in a book, going over sight words or reviewing the months of the year he has hanging on the back of his bedroom door (complete with a pointer just like he has at school) and she sits so attentively, repeating after him and soaking it all in. For my daughter, what I would love to capture is how she dances like no one is watching, except she wants everyone to watch. “Everybody, take a seat” she will say. She loves dressing up with every possible bracelet, necklace, etc she owns and doing her own signature ballet moves. We have been so blessed with happy, healthy, outgoing kids who love each other so much (most of the time) and play so well together (most of the time) and these are the times I want to remember forever. The way they will push their chairs up to the island in the kitchen to help cook a meal and then go to their play kitchen and take orders for what we want to eat. The way they snuggle up together on the couch with popcorn to watch a movie. The way they play games together and my son tries to teach his little sister how to play (like while playing checkers “Are you sure you want to move there? I’m going to jump you”). And best of all, I love to watch my husband playing right there with them.
  • 10.  My family is the most important part of my life. Unfortunately, for a young family looking to build a strong foundation for a secure future, it is very easy to get caught up in the things that seem to be critical for day to day survival now, but 10 years down the road, will essentially be meaningless. Late in the evenings, when we are all together as a family, we are blessed with a natural calm. The chaos of winding down, making plans for dinner, and settling in after my son’s bath and bedtime routine brings us peace. Just knowing that we are home; that we are healthy and safe, makes all of the craziness that surrounds us in this hectic world seize. The innocence that shines through my son’s beautiful smile, the love that resonates through his twinkling blue eyes, and the heartfelt kisses that he is so willing to share with us at this point in time, make capturing every moment possible a priority. It is through your lens, Sara, that my son’s life is documented; his happiness a still frame in time. More than just capturing our memories for future reflection, it the “now” in my family that I want to surround myself in when I am stuck at the office, unable to get to the calm of my home; a tangible “now” to remind me of what is really important in life – My Beautiful Family

I can’t wait for these lifestyle family session to begin!  I will be in touch with all the winners via email very soon so we can start scheduling your sessions.  If you are interested in booking a family lifestyle session, please email me at sara@saraedavisphoto.com.  I would love to hear from you and share with you more about why this is my passion and why it’s so important to me.

How precious are these sweet girls?!!

Family Lifestyle Session Giveaway: It’s time to vote!

I cannot even begin to put into words how happy I have been the last few days reading the responses to the question for the family lifestyle session giveaway: What is it about your family right now that you never want to forget?  Asking questions is part of my daily life…It’s who I am.   I love getting to know what is deep down inside a person’s heart.  So, to me it makes perfect sense to use a question, a thoughtful and emotional one, to kick off this awesome giveaway.

Another thing about me is that I sometimes have an obsessive tendency to make sure things are fair.  So, because a few of the people that entered the giveaway are previous clients, I did not want the contest to be biased in any way.  So, I got together a team of people who know me best to choose their favorites of these anonymous responses.  I honestly loved every single response.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and every person that participated.  It means the world to me.  Truly.

So, without further ado, take some time, grab a cup of coffee and a box of tissues, and get ready to read (and vote on) the top 10 responses to this wonderful question: What is it about your family right now that you never want to forget?

These are natural, timeless, and emotional moments.  This is authenticity.  And it’s real life….

  1. Just a few weeks before the holidays my husband was diagnosed with an incurable form of Lymphoma. He’s only 35 years old. We had found out only a few weeks before that we were expecting baby number three. It felt like the entire world had collapsed. These simple moments are the ones I want to remember!!! And my 5 year old is learning to ride her bike without training wheels!
  3. Our house has grown by two feet! My husband and I were blessed with the birth of our baby girl on Thanksgiving this year (talk about giving thanks!) This precious baby is the perfect symbol of the love my husband and I have for each other. We’ve been side by side since we were sixteen years old and our sweet baby girl signifies that devotion perfectly. What would I like to capture on film? Anything and everything about our new addition — the way she flashes us a BIG toothless smile when we talk to her, her eyes being locked with the person dressing her or changing her diaper, her innocence and perfection when she’s sleeping, how adorable she is when bundled up to go for a walk, the way she fits (perfectly) on someone’s lap when they have their knees pulled up to their chest, and the saddest little face she makes when you take a time out from a bottle to try and burp her. :) She is only going to be this small once and it’s hard to believe she’s already ten weeks old. The memories we are making with her right now are priceless and having them captured on film would allow us to visit them time and time again!
  5. Their smiles that light up the world and my heart. Although my daughter (5) is becoming more worldly wise now that she has started school, and taking on some attitudes of the kids around her, she still smiles with an inhibition and immense inner joy that adults can only dream of. She hugs us, draws us pictures, begs me to write her lunch box notes. We cuddle on the couch or in bed reading stories and she always wants “just one more?” with a pleading look on her face. :) She and my husband laugh and play when she begs for him to pick her up upside down or tickle her. I know that soon, much too soon, she will not want goodbye kisses at the bus stop, or want to give Daddy a “(her name)” hug, or run to me smiling when I pick her up after school, and I will be more likely to see eye rolling than dimples. This is a precious time when she is growing up, but still my little girl with love, and without guile, in her heart. My son’s (9 months) smile fills my heart in a different way. He is so little but already stretching his wings. In another year he will be pushing Mommy away to walk places on his own, not wanting to hold my hand. For now, he smiles at me like I am the best Mommy in the world. He giggles so sweetly when I kiss his neck and when he is tired he becomes a giggle machine! He looks at toys, people, and simple things with such curiosity and wonder. He rolls and pivots all over the dining room in his explorations and jumps just like a little frog in the doorway jumper. When he’s tired, he rests his head on my shoulder and sucks his thumb, completely trusting. I never want to forget their innocence and the abundance of love they have to share. It is like a kiss from God every time I see them smile.
  6. In the midst of pondering how everything will get done in a day’s work one day our 3-year-old said to our 1-year-old “*****-O (daughter’s nickname), I dropped my bean!”.
  7. After reading this question and allowing myself some free time to ponder, I realized there are so many small things that I take for granted every day! My husband and I went from being a newly married couple to a family of four in just a few short months! We were blessed with identical twin girls and while our lives have changed dramatically over the past 16 months, I wonder what we did with all the free time that we must have had before! No matter how chaotic our lives may become, I will always cherish the time that we spend together as a family. My favorite part of every day is first thing in the morning. My husband and I walk into the room to greet the girls and start our day. Their hair a mess and they look at us through sleepy squinty eyes, and a giant smile spreads across their face. They start jumping up and down in their cribs as we walk over to pick them up. It’s as if we have been gone for days and they are seeing us for the first time! I truly feel as if we are the only four people on the planet!
  9. Right now, we are a family of 3 and are just six months shy of becoming a family of 4. We love photos, but find it difficult to take pictures of the three of us without it interrupting the moment we are experiencing (setting the timer and trying to capture what it really feels like at the precise moment the shutter snaps). We are curious to see what our life looks like through someone else’s lens. We never want to forget the simple moments of joy we share with our daughter, the little things that make her eyes light up, and how happy she makes us. We want to capture today – where we are in life, our style (or lack thereof), and how young we think we are. We want to be able to remember our family as three.
  10. More than just capturing our memories for future reflection, it the “now” in my family that I want to surround myself in when I am stuck at the office, unable to get to the calm of my home; a tangible “now” to remind me of what is really important in life – My Beautiful Family.

What is it about your family right now that you never want to forget?: A Family Lifestyle Session Giveaway!

(I am so excited…A lifestyle family session giveaway! Please bear with me and read where my heart is first, and then we will get to all the fun details of the giveaway….)

I could not be more thankful to tell you about a new chapter for Sara Davis Photography’s family sessions. Since beginning my business  20 months ago, God has stretched, grown, and taught me so much… more than I dreamed possible really. I’ve gotten to explore and develop my own style of photography, and over time through many wonderful people, experiences, and circumstances, God has graciously allowed me to find what drives me and speaks to my heart.

It’s natural, timeless, emotional moments. It’s authenticity. And it’s real life.

You see, I’ve discovered that my favorite shots are not the ones that I help set up or orchestrate, but they are the ones that happen organically between people who love each other. Life isn’t always picture perfect, and I believe that 20 years from now the images that will bring tears to your eyes and memories flooding your heart are the ones that portray what your life was like during each particular stage of your family’s life and how you loved each other through it.

I am passionate about capturing the moments lived out in your home doing the beautifully mundane things that make your family uniquely yours. Real, authentic moments can be found in creating bath time rituals, reading stories in your favorite rocking chair, preparing and sharing favorite foods together, playing dress up, counting tiny little toes, playing in the backyard, and in the laughter, silliness, and even the tears that can make up a day in the life of your family. Whatever it is real life for your family, that is what I want to capture.

Time passes and life changes so quickly and that is why these are the moments that need to be remembered and celebrated. Every time I look through the lens of my camera my goal is to help you remember the moments, details, and emotions that existed in this space and time in your family’s life. I want them to tell a story about how you loved each other and lived life together. That is the desire of my heart.

You will be seeing and hearing about many beautiful changes in the coming months. To start it off and in order to help introduce you to the direction I feel like God’s leading me in my business, I am excited to be offering a contest, giving away lifestyle family sessions to five local families in the Cary/Apex area. The winners will receive a two hour lifestyle photography session with me located at your home capturing the real life moments in the life of your family like those described above. Of course, all contests must have rules:

  • Your family must live in Cary or Apex. (I live in Cary, and I would like to establish more clientele in areas local to me. Since these sessions are in the home, only those living in Cary or Apex can win.)
  • Your family lifestyle session must take place by April 15, 2012.
  • The photo session for all five winners will be absolutely free (a $300 value), and the top winner will receive a $100 print credit and a 4×4 linen bound memory book. The other four winners can order their prints separately, if they choose. Digital files are not included, but they may be purchased separately.

In order to enter this amazing giveaway, all you have to do is the following:

  • “Like” this blog post.  (Top left)
  • “Like” Sara Davis Photography on facebook. (If you already “like” my page, you are one step ahead!)
  • Leave a status post on facebook that says something similar to the following: “I am so excited to enter Sara Davis Photography’s lifestyle family session giveaway. Check out her blog post for more details.” Then, leave a link to this blog post.
  • Email the answer to the following question to me at sara@saraedavisphoto.com (along with the location of your home and the ages of your children): What is it about your family right now that you never want to forget?

The initial contest will end on Wednesday, February 8 at 9:00 PM. My team and I will then vote on our favorite 10 responses to the question above. On Thursday, February 9, I will anonymously post these 10 responses on my blog, and then you, the readers, will vote on your favorite. The five people whose responses receive the most votes will win a free lifestyle family session. The person with the response with the most votes will also win a $100 print credit and a 4×4 linen memory book! The winners will be announced on my blog on Monday, February 13. Feel free to email me with any questions.

If you know of others who might like to participate in this contest, then please help me spread the word. Thank you so much for your continued support. I’m looking forward to the opportunity of working with the winning families and to giving you a better picture of where I feel led to preserve priceless memories in new, unique, and authentic ways. I will leave you with some images below to give you just a small taste of what a Sara Davis Photography Lifestyle Family Session will look like.

Thankful,
Sara

Ginny Corbett’s Renew Raleigh Workshop: Get Your Free Spot!

I seriously cannot believe it’s been a year since I met the talented Ginny Corbett and attended her amazing  Renew Workshop in Greenville.  I have learned more than I could ever explain through Ginny and her workshops (I also attended her For the Love Workshop this past October.).  I have been raving about her workshops to every photographer I meet.  I think what makes her workshops so special is because of her incredible ability to not only teach but also encourage and connect with every single photographer that attends.  She genuinely cares about us and our businesses, and she does everything she can to continue to encourage and keep in touch with us.  She truly has a gift that I have never seen or experienced, and I am so thankful call her friend.

I am SO excited to say that Ginny is bringing her Renew Workshop to Raleigh the weekend of February 10-12!   And I am SO honored to be assisting her with the details and planning of it!  I am blown away that I have been given this opportunity, and I am so ecstatic about some of my photographer friends finally getting to meet Ginny and attend her workshop after I have been talking their ears off about it for the the past year! :)

I wrote all about what I learned at last year’s Renew, but after thinking about this past year since Renew, I now realize that the experience was even more invaluable that I even thought a year ago.  If you are a photographer wanting to feel renewed and encouraged and learn a lot, I could not say enough about how much you need to be at this workshop.  Ginny is giving away a free spot to Renew Raleigh, and all of the details are here.  But, hurry, the contest ends January 30 at 5:00 pm!  I hope to see you there!!

Merry Christmas!

It’s been a little while since I blogged. There are some new and fun changes coming to Sara Davis Photography in 2012, and I can’t wait to share them with you in the new year. But, for now, I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I am so thankful to be at home in Greenville with my family celebrating the birth of my Savior. There is nothing like walking into my parents house at Christmastime and getting a big hug from my Dad and the peaceful, comforting feeling that comes from knowing exactly how the house will be decorated by my sweet Mom. I am so happy to relax and be with my family for a few days. I hope you all have a joyful holiday season! Thank you so much to all of my amazing 2011 clients!

I couldn’t leave you without some Christmas pictures of my fun, happy, beautiful niece…

Merry Christmas, everyone!
